There
are, in the world, 34 million people who are refugees, asylum-seekers or
displaced from their homes in one way or another. One of the most
valuable ways of helping these people is by creating an awareness of their
problems. The World Wide Web is an excellent medium to bring about this
awareness. It is full of news and information on this topic, as on practically
anything else. This web page was born out of the research that
goes into preparing a weekly article about refugees for a local newspaper.
It is an attempt at gathering and organizing news and information about
refugees in one WWW site.
